GORDON E. LIMES, 74

A memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 28 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont for Gordon E. Limes, 74 who died at his home in Garland, Texas Saturday, September 23, 1989. Virgil Reeve of First Baptist Church is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

Gordon E. Limes was born July 2, 1915 in Fremont. He grew up at Norfolk and graduated from high school there.

He moved to California after high school and worked in the construction of the Alkan Highway and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He came to Fremont in 1945 and went to work for the C & NW Railroad. In 1947 he went to work for George A. Hormel and Co., where he was employed until his retirement in 1974. He moved to Blair and lived there for seven years before moving to the Garland, Texas area in 1975.

He was a member of First Christian Church at Garland, Texas and of the Odd Fellows while in Fremont. He served on the Board of Directors of Hormel Credit Union.

He married Odessa Galyon on April 19, 1941 at Denison, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Susan Hill Limes.

He is survived by his wife, Odessa; daughters, Mrs. Jo Medrick of Garland, Texas and Mrs. Jerry (Michelle) Eaton of North Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Roberta) Froding of Fremont and Mrs. T. E. (Barbara) Vernon of Nolensville, Tennessee, and five grandchildren.

The organist is Alice Diffey. Ralph Difffey is soloist.

Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
