Mardell L. Heybrock, 83 years, of Fremont, NE, formerly of Arlington, NE, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Mardell was born April 4, 1932 to Johan and Marie (Hansen) Jessen in Cedar Bluffs, NE. She grew up in the Cedar Bluffs and Fremont area. She graduated from Fremont High School, class of 1949. On July 28, 1955, she married Vernon Synovec at Yankton, SD. They later divorced. She worked at Hormel Foods for eleven years and Oil Gear for sixteen years, until her retirement in 1991. On September 8, 1990, she married Fred Heybrock at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. They lived in rural Arlington until Fred's passing in 2012. Mardell resided in Fremont.

She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League at Arlington, and current member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.

She was an avid bowler and loved playing cards.

Survivors include sons: Terry (Michele) Synovec of Fremont, and Todd (Brandy) Synovec of Fremont; stepsons: Hal (Brenda) Heybrock of Arlington, and Paul (Ilana) Heybrock of Norfolk, NE; stepdaughter, Ann (Thomas) Morris of Lenexa, KS; sisters: Lola Meyer, Shirley Dwyer, Gloria (Richard) Andersen, Norma Hagerty and Judy Anderson, all of Fremont; grandchildren Tyler and Trevor Synovec; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Mardell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; sisters: Florene Jessen and Delores Voss; and brothers: Delbert and Lloyd Jessen.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. Pastors Glenn Meyer and Rick Kanoy will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and at church on Wednesday 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
