Services for Emma Field, 73 of Wisner, Nebraska, who died September 10, 1995, at her home, were Wednesday, September 13 at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, Rev. Paul Moeller officiated with burial in the Wisner Cemetery.

Emma Mabel Carolina Field was born August 4, 1922, on a farm southeast of Wayne, Nebraska, to Emil and Mary Miller Bargholz. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne.

She attended Wayne County District School No. 33 and graduated from the eighth grade in 1936.

She married Reuben Field October 7, 1947, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. They made their home on various farms in Wayne and Stanton Counties before moving into Wisner in 1963.

She worked for the Little Gem Café, Dairy Keen, El Rancho, Hay Barn and the Huddle Bar. In 1972, she purchased the Huddle Bar, which she operated until retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Wisner Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a former member of the Wisner Izaak Walton League.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben, on June 1, 1984; her parents; a daughter, Mona in 1965; two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Dennis and Juli Field and Darryl and Julie Field and David Field, all of Wisner; a daughter, Patricia Ann Field of Blair; six grandchildren; a sister, Ella (Mrs. Otto) Field of Winside, Nebraska, and a brother, Christian Bargholz of Wayne.

Pallbearers were Randy Woldt, Bruce Frevert, Albert Pierce, Chad Ludwig, Dennis Bilbrey, Terry Henschke and Gail Ludwig.

Honorary pallbearers were Dale Moeller, Kenneth Cruse, Jerry Tomrdle, Elton Rabe, Vance Rabe and LeRoy Giese.

Kuzelka Funeral Home in Wisner was in charge of arrangements.
