Funeral services are Tuesday Jan. 16, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Blair with burial in the Blair Cemetery for Leycester ‘Lake’ Gregor Hansen who died January 12, 1990 at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Leycester Gregor Hansen was born on a farm near Blair to Mads Gregor and Olga Rasmussen Hansen on November 27, 1911. His mother died when Lake was seven years old. He attended Cruickshank and Goosepasture grade schools.

He married Katherine C. Swagger of Tekamah on June 6, 1932. During the early depression years, Lake and Katherine lived in Blair where he drove a water truck on the new “Highway 73” project.

In 1933 they moved back to the farm by Tekamah. He farmed many years and started the Hansen Welding Shop in Blair.

He later worked at the Kelly Ryan river plant and retired in 1977. He owned and operated the Hansen Tree Farm.

Lake suffered from emphysema for nearly twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons and daughter-in-laws; Ronald and Erma of Blair and Richard and Marlene of Fulton, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Guinevere and Larry Doeden of Blair and by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Leon of Amity, Oregon; John of Tekamah, Nebraska; and Norman of Red Oak, Iowa; and by two sisters, Sharlan Siems of Columbus, Nebraska; and Marjorie Duncan of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
