SERVICES ARE ON TUESDAY FOR MARIUS HANSEN

Funeral services are Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church for Marius Hansen, 83, who died March 7, 1981, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Rev. Kurt Sortland is conducting the services. Burial is in the Blair Cemetery.

Marius Hansen was born February 8, 1898, in Coulter, Iowa, to Peter and Marie Mortensen Hansen. He moved to Kenmare, North Dakota, as a child and attended school in North Dakota. He moved to Sidney, Montana, in 1922 where he married Carrie Holl on June 14, 1922.

He farmed in that area until 1930 when he moved to Blair. He was engaged in the construction business as a home builder in the Blair area until he retired in 1965. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and a member of Lutheran Men. He was also a past president of Good Shepherd Home for 12 years.

Two grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie, of Blair; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Leehy, of Norfolk, Nebraska; and five sons, Gerald Hansen, Blair; Roger Hansen, Minot, North Dakota; Stanley Hansen, Holland, Michigan; Glen Hansen, Arvada, Colorado; and Karl Hansen, Farmersburg, Iowa. Nineteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive him.

Claire Cowing is organist, Homer Nielsen is the vocalist. Selections include “How Great Thou Art,” Amazing Grace,” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

Pallbearers are Randall Hansen, John Leehy, Kyle Hansen, Patrick Flynn, James Cook, and Stanley Mencke.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
