#1- 21 Jan., 1901 - The Pilot - Michael Hansen

News was brought to this office yesterday of the death of Mike Hansen, who lived two miles east of Spiker. He was taken ill a week ago with pneumonia and died about three o’clock yesterday morning. Mr. Hansen was a special favorite among the young people in his neighborhood and his death comes as a great shock. The funeral was held today noon at the church, seven miles northwest of Blair.

Died-At the home of his parents, about six miles southwest of this place, at 3:00 a.m., last Sunday, Michael Hansen, who was taken ill with the grippe about three weeks ago, which terminated into pneumonia, causing his death. The deceased was born in Denmark, coming to this country with his parents about nineteen years ago, when but a small child. He was a young man of industrious habits, and had a large circle of friends. The funeral was held from the home on Monday, Rev. J. Poucher officiating. ~Herman Advertiser.
