The body of Nels Hansen, Sr., was brought here from Omaha last Friday and the funeral held at the Danish Lutheran Church at 1 o’clock, Rev. H. Nelson officiating. Burial was at Kennard by the side of his wife, who died some thirty years ago. Mr. Hansen was born in Jutland, Denmark, July 16th, 1844, and grew to manhood there. He was married there and all but the youngest of their eleven children were born there. Three of them died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Sam Clausen, died a number of years ago at Ft. Calhoun. They came to Omaha first and later to this county, which has been their home most of the time since. Mr. Hansen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. C. Nelson, in Omaha last Wednesday evening. The surviving children are Mrs. J. W. Pokorisy, of Valparaiso, Ed Hansen of Raymond, Neb. and E. C. and H. G. and H. M. Hansen, of Omaha and C. R. and Nels Hansen, Jr., of this city.

The remains of Nels Hansen, Sr., were brought here from Omaha last Friday and after services at the Danish Church were taken to Kennard for interment. Mr. Hansen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. C. Nelson in Omaha. Among other surviving children is Nels Hansen, Jr., of Blair.
