Hans P. M. Hansen of Blair died Thursday evening, July 25, at the Good Shepherd Home. He had been a resident of the home since June, 1975. Services were scheduled for Monday, July 29 at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl F. Schattauer officiated with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Hansen was born in Howells on September 12, 1890 to Mads P. and Marianna Sinamark Hansen. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Howells.

In 1892, the Hansen family moved to a farm in northwest Blair. During their life on the farm, the family became active in First Lutheran Church. Hans was confirmed in First Lutheran.

Hans attended Cuming City School and also a winter term at Dana College.

On March 10, 1915, Hans was united in marriage to Annie K. Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kruger Nelson, at the farm house. Three children were born to this marriage.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie, in 1975, by one daughter, and five sisters, Lydia, Carrie, Johanna, Carrie (Mrs. Fred C. M. Hansen) and Mary Ann (Mrs. Chris Hansen).

Hans was a prominent farmer for 32 years. His farm was located west of Blair. He continued farming in a partnership with his son, Clifford, for another 12 years. After this partnership was dissolved, Hans continued his daily visits to the farm up until he was unable to drive.

Hans was active in First Lutheran. He served on the Building Committee which was responsible for the present structure of First Lutheran. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Home in the early years of the home.

Survivors include: son, Clifford K. Hansen; and daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Paul O. Peterson); two sisters, Bertha Hansen of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Lydia Hansen of Ruskin, Nebraska; and four brothers, Aaron, Edward, James, and Martin, all living in the Blair area. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Richard Sorensen, Harald Schjodt, Donald C. Andersen, Lyle Christensen, John J. Jensen, and Lloyd Nielsen.
