Harold C. Hansen, 79 died Friday, April 4, 1997 at a nursing home in Harlingen, Tex.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mont Meta Memorial Park in Texas.

Harold Hansen was born June 5, 1917 at Kennard. He was the retired owner of the Hansen and Son Distributing Co. of Harlingen. The firm was a Frito - Lay snack products distributor for the Rio Grande Valley area for over 40 years.

He served in World War II as a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot in England, flying 35 missions in B - 24 and B - 17 bombers with the 493rd Bomb Group of the Eighth Air Force. He ended his military service as a Major in the U. S. Air Force Reserve.

He married Bridget Elizabeth Goodman.

Survivors are sons, Dennis Hansen of Houston, Tex. and Rod Hansen of Ft. Myers, Fla.; daughters, Pamela Hansen of Ft. Myers and Betty Ann Galvan of Ft. Myers; a grandson, Patrick Galvan of Ft. Myers; granddaughters, Laura E. Hansen of Houston; Lisa Galvan and Jennifer Galvan, both of Ft. Myers; a sister-in-law, Anna (Mrs. Patrick) McAteer of Brownsville, Tex.; a daughter-in-law, Judith E. Hansen of Houston; a niece, Patricia Johnson Hodge of Brownsville; a son - in - law, Ralph Galvan of Ft. Myers and a nephew, Kip Johnson Hodge of Brownsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bridget in 1995.

Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
