SERVICES FOR JOHN E. HANSEN WERE WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for 73 year old John E. Hansen were held Wednesday morning from the Campbell Mortuary in Blair.

Mr. Hansen was found dead Monday morning, June 16th, in the hall by his apartment in downtown Blair. Coroner Dr. L. L. Grace and County Attorney David Quist listed the cause of death as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Hansen was born on May 30, 1902 near Orum. He was retired from the Postal Service where he had been employed for approximately 25 years. Mr. Hansen was active in the Blair Fire Department and served as Chief from 1934 to 1948. Mr. Hansen also served as a City Councilman for Blair.

After retiring from the Postal Service, he did work as a Security Officer for the Omaha World Herald for about 6 years. He retired from that position approximately three years ago.

Surviving Mr. Hansen are his son, Dr. John Hansen, Jr., of Wahoo and a daughter, Mrs. Carol Zacharisen of Arvada, Colorado; also a sister, Mrs. Earl Burbank of Florida. His wife, the former Mildred Hart, preceded him in death. He had 9 grandchildren.

Rev. John Fritzmeier officiated at the service with burial in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bud Robinson, Bill Hart, Bob McMilian, Bud Jensen, Al Sick, and Gordon Vinton.
