George Brandt, 74, Dies In Colorado

George Brandt, 74 years of age, died at Holyoke, Colorado, Monday, August 31.

He was born August 26, 1890 on a farm south of Blair, Nebr. He lived there until 1950 when Mr. Brandt and Mary Wrich were married and they came to Blair to make their home. In 1960 they moved to Holyoke, Colo., hoping that the higher altitude would improve Mr. Brandt’s health.

Survivors beside his wife Mary, are his sister, Mrs. Emma Schneider of Omaha, his brother Claus, of Blair and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in Blair, Nebr., at the First Methodist Church Friday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dale Westadt officiated. Mrs. Lois Donaldson, soloist, sang “One Sweetly Solemn Thought” and “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind.” Mrs. Eugene Flynn served as organist.

Pallbearers were Herman Meeves, Ben Lambrecht, Henry Wiese, Claus Wrigg, Chris Klotz, and Richard Japp.

Burial was in the German Cemetery. Campbell Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
