LaRoice A. Hansen, 79, of Laurel, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in Laurel at United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doug House officiating.

Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home in Laurel, with family present from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Borge Kastrup, soloist, will perform along with organist Verjean Heyden.

Pallbearers are David Perry, Robert Perry, Carl Bures, Michael Perry, Corey Lindstrom and Dennis Henze.

Burial will be in the Laurel Cemetery.

LaRoice Amber Hansen was born July 10, 1919, on a farm near Laurel to Henry and Beulah (Johnson) Jones.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Laurel.

She married Howard Hansen on July 2, 1938, at Slayton, Minn.

The couple farmed near Laurel and Belden, moving to Laurel in 1950, where she owned and operated the Sale Barn Café for 15 years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Laurel, former member of the Laurel Cemetery Association and Laurel Senior Center. She also enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Paul Perry of Sioux City, Iowa and Dianne and Dave Lindstrom of Blair; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Belva Miner of Tekamah; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard and three brothers.

Schumacher-Hasemann Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
