REV. L.C. HANSEN DIED WEDNESDAY
Funeral services were held on Saturday for Rev. Laurits Christian Hansen, 81 years of age, who died Wednesday evening at Memorial Community Hospital.
The services were held at First Lutheran Church, the Rev. Geo. Palleson officiating with interment in the Blair Cemetery.
Rev. Hansen, who lived at 2120 Nebraska Street, is survived by his wife, Agatha; sons, David of Denver, Ethan of Atascadero, California and Charles of Arlington; daughters, Mrs. Gail Schooley (Ellen) of Chicago and Mrs. Harold Hauser (Sara Anne) of Bloomington, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Henry Larsen, of Underwood, Iowa, and 12 grandchildren.
Mr. Hansen was born Nov. 8, 1883 in Denmark. He served in the ministry for many years and also worked at the former Lutheran Publishing House for several years.
Rev. Hansen was married to Agatha Mengers, on March 29, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Rev. Hansen served churches at Chicago, Illinois, Shennington, Wisconsin, Kenmare, North Dakota, and Dannebrough, Nebraska. At the age of 65 Rev. Hansen retired and worked for the Lutheran Published House in Blair for many years.
Pallbearers were D. C. C. Madsen, Rev. Paul Johnson, Dr. Clifford Hanson, Rev. Delvin Hutton, Rev. William Thomsen and Otto Stave.
The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
