Rena W. Hansen, 95, of Tekamah, died Dec. 7, 2000, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services were held Dec. 11, 2000, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. The Rev. Kenneth A. Jensen officiated. Interment was at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Rena W. Hansen was born Dec. 13, 1904, in Blair to Peter and Ulricka (Jacobsen) Jensen. Following the death of her mother when she was three years old, she made her home with the Lars P. Nelsen family in Blair. She was baptized in the Blair Danish Lutheran Church in 1920. In 1922, she graduated from Blair High School.

On April 22, 1925, she married Alfred W. Hansen in Blair. They lived in Kennard area, west of Herman, Boystown, and then Tekamah. Mrs. Hansen was a homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Ed Novotny of Omaha, Janet Elaine and Lee Siffring of Scottsdale, Ariz., Carole and James Anderson of Tekamah; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Terri Hansen of Columbus, Nev., Gordon and Judi Hansen of Surf City, N.C., nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
