Roy C. Hansen, 91, of Blair, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair, with interment in the Herman Cemetery.

Roy C. Hansen was born April 24, 1915, in Blair to Louis and Marie (Tolstrup) Hansen. He moved to Nelson as an infant, where he attended elementary school. He moved back to Blair in 1925, and attended school in rural Blair.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, entering the service in January 1942, and was discharged in 1945.

On Dec. 16, 1945, he married Elva Lang at Trinity Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Hooper area until moving to Herman, where he farmed until his retirement in 1983. He moved back to Blair in 1985.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Herman American Legion, the Blair V.F.W., served for 18 years as the treasurer of the Herman School Board, and was a committee member of the Washington County ASCS.

He is survived by his wife, Elva; sons and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Kathleen Hansen, of Blair, and Larry Hansen of Herman; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Dave Rogert of Herman; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Altekruse; and brothers, Edward Milton and Lyle.
