Ruth A. Hansen, 92, of Fremont, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 1, 2001, in the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 5, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, with the Rev. Phillip Vance and Vicar Mike Meyer officiating. Interment was in Memorial Cemetery.

Ruth A. Hansen was born Sept. 13, 1909, to Theodore and Olga (Bergt) Schrein, on the farm near Hooper. She grew up in the Hooper/Winslow area.

On Jan. 10, 1934, she married Harry W. “Bill” Hansen at her parent’s home east of Winslow.

Mrs. Hansen and her husband farmed all their working years north of Ames. They moved to Fremont in 1973.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Fremont. She had been very active in her church, including assisting in Trinity Lutheran’s Day Care.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Meredith Hansen of Ames, and William H. and Lorna Hansen of Albuquerque, N. M., four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two brothers and sister-in-law, Adelbert and Beatrice Schrein of Medford, Ore., and Paul Schrein of Oakdale, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Gertrude Schurman, and two brothers, Erwin and Lewis Schrein.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School and Trinity Lutheran Day Care.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
