Ruth I. Hansen, 79, of Blair, died Monday, June 19, 2006.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, at First Lutheran Church in Blair, with interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Ruth Inez (Krenzer) Hansen was born July 12, 1926, in Omaha to William and Ester (Thompson) Krenzer. She was a graduate of North High School.

On May 18, 1946, she married Dale Hansen in Hiawatha, Kan.

In between hunting and fishing trips, she worked in the layout department at Harrison & Sons Printing for nearly 20 years. The Hansens later moved to Fort Calhoun and then to Blair.

Over the years, she met and touched the lives of many friends through the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and VFW Auxiliaries.

Her family remembers her as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. They note, “Ruth was a source of constant light in the world of her family and friends. Though her comforting smile, sage advice and graceful presence will be sorely missed, we can take comfort she is safe and sound in the Kingdom of Heaven.”

She is survived by her children, Nancy and Pete Kaiser of Blair, and Teena Wilson of Omaha; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Francis Barney of Des Moines, Iowa; and a brother, Robert, of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; brothers, William “Bud” and Roy; and sister, Madeline.
