John Wrich, 73

John G. Wrich, 73, of Fremont died Thursday, April 23, 1998, at the Valhaven Nursing Center in Valley, Neb.

Graveside services were Saturday at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Mr. Wrich was born July 19, 1924 on the family farm near Kennard to John C. and Margretha (Hansen) Wrich. He attended Peacefull Hill School near his home. He served in the U. S. Army during 1946, receiving the Victory Medal. He worked at the Mead Ordinance Plant, on farms, at the Nixon Feed Mill and the Omaha School District No. 66. He moved to Fremont in August 1965. He first did janitorial work for several Fremont businesses and then went to work for American Freezer Services. He retired from there in August 1992 after 23 years of employment there. On Sept. 18, 1956, he married Ruth Schultz in the Bethlehem Mennonite Church in Bloomfield, Mont.

Survivors are a daughter, Catherine A. Wrich of Fremont; a son and daughter-in-law, Wilbur and Bonnie Wrich of Fremont; a brother, Lawrence Wrich of Ashland; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Lyle Henley of Tekamah and Elsie Petersen of Fremont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on Oct. 28, 1996, his parents; and two brothers, Claus Wrich and Albert Wrich.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
