TRAFFIC CRASH AT ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, KILLS BLAIR MAN

Steven L Hansen, 21, a native of Washington County and a graduate of Blair High School, was killed early Sunday in a traffic accident in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen of Herman.

The deceased man, who was a student of the Nebraska School of Commerce in Omaha, had gone to St. Louis, accompanied by his wife, Debra, and a friend, Richard Bryant, 20, to visit Debra’s great grandmother. Mrs. Hansen was not in the car at the time of the accident.

The crash, which occurred in suburban St. Louis, reportedly struck a light standard and overturned. The car is said to have rolled over several times, trapping the men inside. Bryant, whose address was not immediately determined, was hospitalized and was reported to be in critical condition.

Hansen, in addition to his wife and his parents, is survived by two brothers, Ronald of Lyons, and Mark of Herman and by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hull, of Tekamah and Mrs. Alma Hansen of Blair.

The deceased was born at Oakland, Nebraska, March 18, 1954. He was 21 years of age.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Blair, the service being conducted by the Rev. Robert Albers. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Herman Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Les Christiansen, Merle Halligan, Duane Gray, Mike McMullen, Glenn Dein and Robert Larsen.
