The death date was established through Big Springs Cemetery records. They list her name as Susan Emily “Susie” Moffitt Hansen.

Mrs. Hans Hansen died at the home of her daughter at Grand Island the fore part of the week. As Susan Moffitt she was born in Orange County, Indiana in 1868. She was married to James Kirk and to union eight children were born. Mr. Kirk died in 1904 and she later married Hans Hansen, four children being born to this union. She lived in Blair many years before moving to the western part of the state. Surviving her are the husband, eight children, five brothers and three sisters. The remains were taken to Big Springs, Nebraska, for burial.
