THORVALD HANSEN DIED TUESDAY

Mr. Thorvald Hansen of Herman passed away at the Blair Hospital on Tuesday, April 20th at the age of 85 years. He was born on August 4, 1879 at Tryggeler, Denmark and came to the United States with his parents at the age of 2. They lived at Council Bluffs for ten years before moving to Herman.

Mr. Hansen was married to Annette Kruse in 1902 and they lived on a farm near Herman for many years. Mrs. Hansen also served as a Assessor for over 45 years.

They were the parents of eight children. Those surviving are: Carl and Einar of Blair, Clarence of Fremont, Mrs. Julius Weber (Ella) of Herman, Mrs. Lillie Christiansen of Fremont, Mrs. Dean Deines (Agnes) of Omaha and Mrs. W. A. Knudsen (Frances Mae) of Los Angeles. Mrs. Hansen died in 1960 and a daughter, Esther, also preceded him in death. Ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren are also survivors.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday at the Methodist Church in Herman. The Rev. Percy Bruns and Rev. Eric E. Christiansen will officiate. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery with the Bendorf Mortuary in charge. Landmark Lodge 222 of Herman will have graveside services.

Pallbearers will be nephews: Otto, William, Walter and Gerald Kruse, Jack and Elsy Triplett.
