Thelma E (Cachelin) Bigg, 86

Fort Calhoun native Thelma E. Bigg, 86, of Bloomington Indiana, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Hospitality House Nursing Home in Bloomington.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8, at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Green &Harrell Chapel, in Bloomington. Interment was at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.

Thelma E. Bigg was born May 2, 1918 in Fort Calhoun to Edward and Hazel (Jepperson) Cachelin. She graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in 1936.

She was a retired Tupperware distributor. She attended Crossroads United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

Mrs. Bigg loved to travel and go on tours and especially to visit Fort Calhoun. She always looked forward to alumni events to see former classmates.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlyne and Robert Sowder of Ellettsville, Indiana, Judy and Herman Nann of Whiteland, Indiana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Melvyn and Janet Gerst of Saratoga, California, and Larry and Warunee Gerst of Encinitas, California; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Urban Cachelin of Lander, Wyoming, and Charles Cachelin of Vallejo, California; three sisters, Illa Wenzell of Nebraska City, JoAnn Crofton of Louisville, and Frances Sheppard of Fort Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Bigg.
