Marie Ann Japp, 91, of Kennard died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery. There will be a prayer service Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Japp was born June 12, 1906, in rural Kennard to Hans and Bertha (Kuhr) Wrich. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmaus Lutheran Church. She attended school at Dornacker and lived on the family farm her entire life with the exception of 14 years. On April 4, 1923, she married Walter H. Japp, Sr.

She was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and the Emmaus Lutheran Church Women’s Circle.

Survivors are daughters and son-in-law, Mildred and Donald Krampe, Marion, Ind.; and Mary Lou Anderson, Omaha; sons and daughters-in-law, Lyle and Phyllis Japp, Omaha; Walter, Jr. and JoAnn Japp, Kennard; a sister-in-law, Dora Wrich; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter in January 1989; a grandson and five brothers.

Memorials may be given to Emmaus Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Note: Burial is in Blk 8 Lot 7 Space 5 in the Kennard Cemetery.
