D. Florence Hanson, 78, of Blair, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Services were Tuesday, June 1, at First Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

D. Florence Hanson was born March 23, 1921, to Albert O. and Nettie C. (Lovaas) Hanson in Astoria, S. D.

She graduated from Hendricks, Minnesota High School and later from Dana College.

On May 25, 1944, she married Clifford Hanson in Blair.

She served as pastoral assistant at First Lutheran Church for a number of years.

She was a member of the Dana Women’s Club, First Lutheran Church Circles and discussion groups. She served on the Blair World of Entertainment Board, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Board, Lutheran Family Service Committee and A.L.C. Central District Committee.

She was also a search teacher for the procurement of Bible teachers.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Hanson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Yvonne Hanson of Portland, Ore., and Neil Hanson of Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Wade Bolton of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Vincent of Westland, Michigan, and Rose and her husband Reuben Haffner, of Hendricks, Minn.; and brothers, Virgil and his wife, Hildegard Hanson, of Greeley, Colo., and Paul and his wife, Eunice Hanson, of Pittsford, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Norma Sagmoc and Fern Pedersen; and brothers, Alexander and Ernst Hanson.

Memorials are suggested to Dana College, First Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
