Verne Alvin Hanthorne, 75 years of age, died at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha August 4th.

He was born April 12, 1890 at Fairmont, but resided in Kennard before moving to Omaha 22 years ago.

A veteran of World War I, he was charter member of the VFW in Blair. He was also a member of World War I Barracks, Jonathan Lodge in Omaha, and an Odd Fellow for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Christine and four daughters: Mrs. Thomas Poierrer and Mrs. Marc Voss of St. Louis, Mrs. Melvin Cambden of Drexel, Mo., and Mrs. Val Marten of Honolulu. Also 17 grandchildren.

Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.
