A report reached Blair this morning that John Harder, a well-known and highly respected resident of this county, had died at his home in the Wranch neighborhood, in the south end of the county, last night from heart disease, from which he had suffered for some time. No particulars of the funeral arrangements could be obtained.

John Harder, an old settler who lived in the southern part of the county, died of heart trouble last Thursday night and the funeral was held yesterday at the house, a minister from Bennington officiating. His death wasn’t unexpected as he had been troubled with his heart for some time. Burial was made in the German Cemetery near his home. He was 62 years of age and was born in Germany. Besides his wife he leaves three sons, John, Otto and Max, the latter living in the west was unable to attend the funeral. Also three daughters, Minnie, now Mrs. Otto Grothusen, who lives near Washington; Bertha, now Mrs. Wm. Schmidt, who lives near Irvington, and Madeline who lives at home.
