Services for Bob Hardy, 59, who died January 23, 1994 at the Memorial Community Hospital, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 26 at First Lutheran Church, with military graveside services held at the Blair Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Bobby Lee Hardy was born July 9, 1934 at Blair, Nebraska to Delbert “Earl” and Florence Howe Hardy. He attended school at Spiker, Rose Hill and at Blair.

On June 8, 1958 he married Patricia Conway at Blair.

He entered the Army in 1953 and received his basic training at Ft. Riley, Kansas and his advanced tractor training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He served in the 808th Engineering Aviation Battalion, during the Korean Conflict, and was stationed in Okinawa, Iwo Gima, Guam, Formosa and Wake Island.

After his return from the service he worked for the Washington County Road Department, George Van Deusen Construction Company, Corps of Engineers and the last 23 years with the city of Blair as the street commissioner.

He belonged to the Blair Fire Department and Rescue Squad for 20 years, was a charter member of the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles, member of Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, past master of the Blair Masonic Lodge, member of the Mo Ri Shrine and was recipient of the Blair Citizen of the Year in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his father Earl and sister, Earlene.

Surviving him in death is his wife, Patricia; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Timothy Tierney, Tokyo, Japan; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Randall and Jamie Lynn Hardy, Edwards Air Force Base, California; four grandchildren; his mother, Florence Hardy, Blair; three sisters, Betty (Mrs. Glenn) French, Phoenix, Arizona; Charlotte Petersen, Blair and Patricia Nielsen, Blair and two brothers, Marshall Hardy, Fremont, Nebraska and William Hardy, Blair.

Memorials may go to the Blair Little League or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
