Florence Hardy, 94, of Blair, died on Aug. 21, 2000, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 24, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Florence Katherine Hardy was born on Feb. 2, 1906, to Jake and Pearl (Brenneman) Howe at Chambers. She attended school in Chambers. On June 4, 1926, she married Earl Hardy in Ord. They moved to Chambers after their marriage, and lived there until moving to Tekamah in 1927.

In 1928, they moved to Blair until moving to the Spiker area in 1936, where they farmed until moving back to Blair in 1955.

Mrs. Hardy ran the Jack & Jill Nursery for seven years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, member and past president of the Blair VFW Auxiliary, and member of the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Glenn French of Overgaard, Ariz.; daughters, Charlotte Petersen and Patricia Nielsen, both of Blair; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Violet Hardy of Fremont, and William and Judy Hardy of Fort Calhoun; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, LaTrell of Bailie of Vancouver, Wash.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Kathryn Howe of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; a son, Robert; an infant daughter, Earline; and a brother, Lloyd Howe.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
