Walter H. Japp, Sr., 87

Walter H. Japp, Sr., 87, died at the Crowell Home on Jan. 9, 1989.

Walter was born on July 31, 1901 on a farm in rural Blair to William and Dora (Harder) Japp. He attended Sunnyside School and Kennard High School.

On April 4, 1923 he was united in marriage to Marie Wrich in Omaha. The couple farmed in the Kennard area for 65 years.

Walter was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church and a member of the Blair Eagles.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and JoAnn Japp, Jr. of Kennard and Lyle and Phyllis Japp of Omaha; two daughters, Mildred (Mrs. Don) Krampe of Marion, In., Mary Lou Andersen of Omaha; by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Christine (Mrs. Paul) Wulf of Fremont.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Campbell Funeral Home in Blair.
