Mrs. I. Skobo Died At Hospital Sunday, July 5th

Mrs. Mathilde Skobo, widow of the late Ingevard Skobo, died Sunday at the Memorial Community Hospital. She was 72 years of age and had been making her home at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Mrs. Skobo was a native of Denmark, having been born there February 22, 1898. For many years the family lived on a farm at the end of Grant Street in Blair. The family, comprised of four daughters, had been very active in many community affairs and the name was well known in the community.

The four daughters, all of whom survive their mother’s death, are Mrs. Ray Weckmuller (Mary) of Blair; Mrs. Glen Jackson (May) of Rochester, Michigan; Mrs. Gerald Faye (Edith) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Mrs. Reese McFerlane (Edna) of Gross Point, Michigan.

There are eleven grandchildren.

Mrs. Skobo has four surviving brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Jens Jacobsen, of Laurel, Nebraska; Magnus Jacobsen, of Tacoma, Washington, and Olaf and Harold Jacobsen, of Denmark. The sisters, both of whom live in Denmark are Mrs. Clara Overgaard and Mrs. Joanna Rahl.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Albers conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

The pall bearers were Paul Skovbo, Harold Jacobsen, Paul V. Hansen, Stuart Perry, Marius Hansen and Joe Breithaupt.
