Kenneth E. Skoog, 69

Services for Kenneth E. Skoog, 69 of Fremont who died January 9, 1996 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont were Friday, January 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald Levenhagen and Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.

Kenneth E. Skoog was born March 13, 1926 on the family farm in Saunders County. He was baptized November 15, 1940 at First Christian Church.

He attended and graduated from the Carey High School, a 10-grade high school, in Saunders County in 1941. He then attended and graduated from Fremont High School in 1943.

He served in the United States Army in 1944-45 during World War II.

Following his military service, he attended the University of Nebraska, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from the University’s College of Agriculture.

He was a life-long farmer and had also worked for the United States Post Office and Auto Electric. On August 31, 1989, he retired from the Fremont Department of Utilities after 20 years’ service.

He was a member of the American Radio Relay League.

He married Donna Bloemker at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington August 31, 1952.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Edna Johnson Skoog and an infant daughter Denise.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Greg) Weber of Fremont and Marjorie (Mrs. Michael) McConnell of North Platte; three sons, Steven Skoog of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Arnold Skoog of Carrollton, Texas and Ronald Skoog of Lincoln; eight grandchildren and a sister, Marilyn (Mrs. Martin) Ashley of Omaha.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
