William Kuhr 71, Passed Away Early Monday

Long Time Farmer Died At Home Of Sister, Mrs. Hans Wrich

William F. Kuhr, a native of this county, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Hans Wrich, last Monday morning, June 19th. He had been ill since May 3rd. when he suffered a heart attack.

The deceased was born July 27, 1878. Had he lived until July 27, this year, he would have reached his 72nd birthday. He was born on a farm near Orum, the son of the late Mrs. and Mrs. George H. Kuhr. He grew to manhood on the farm.

On April 22, 1903, he was married to Alvina Wulf. They immediately took up farming near Kennard and continued that work until 1923 at which time they moved to Blair, living at 59 West Street until the death of Mrs. Kuhr on June 23rd, 1939. Since that time he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Wrich.

Survivors are one son, Clarence Kuhr, of Blair, and two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth George and Mrs. James Ryan, both of Omaha. There are also eight grandchildren and three brothers, George, Otto and John and three sisters, Mrs. Hans Wrich, Mrs. Albert B. Hansen, and Mrs. Tillie Wolfe, all of Blair. One brother, Henry, preceded him in death.

Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Homer L. Dickerson officiating. Interment is being made in the Blair Cemetery under the auspices of the I.O.O.F. lodge No. 14.

The Bendorf Funeral home supervised the burial. Music for the last rites was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Blanchard.

The pall bearers were: A.C. Anderson, W.B. Rosenbaum, and John Kunneman of Kennard; Ed Mundorf, Frank Petersen and Alfred Sick, of Blair.
