Grandson of Blair Couple Died At Sioux City

LYONS—Funeral services for Scott E. Slaughter, 13, of Lyons, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill.

Scott died Wednesday morning, following an extended illness, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. He was born on March 20, 1966, in Pender. Scott was an eighth grader in Lyons Public School and was active in sports and a member of the junior high school band.

Scott is survived by his parents, Eugene and Sharon Slaughter, and brothers, Kirk, Marty and Rustin, all of Lyons. Other survivors are: grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Slaughter, Rosalie; and Mr. and Mrs. John Frey, Blair.
