2nd obituary, Thursday, May 1, 1924 Enterprise, Blair, Nebraska

This community was shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mr. J. W. Small on Sunday morning, with an attack of heart trouble. The Small family moved onto the Steve Mahoney farm this spring and were just beginning their first year’s work in this neighborhood. Mr. Small was in Blair Saturday, apparently in good health. He was 42 years of age on May 1, and leaves besides his wife, two sons, Harold, 17 years, attending the Blair High School, and Albert, 14 years attending the country school. The family had come to Nebraska from Iowa some time last fall. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home, a minister from Missouri Valley officiating and burial was made in the Blair cemetery. The pall bearers were members of the W.O.W., of which deceased was a member.
