EDUCATOR, FARMER KYKER DIES AT THE AGE 88

Educator and farmer Franklin Byrd Kyker died Thursday, May 10, at the Crowell Home in Blair. He was 88.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Follmer) Kyker of 900 S. 90th Street, Omaha, and daughter Sharon (Mrs. George Krauss) of 5202 Cummings Street, Omaha; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Kyker, World War I veteran and son of John William and Florence Ellen (Bayless) Kyker, taught in the Lincoln Public Schools for 35 years. He also farmed in the Fairbury area. He was a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge 19.

Services were Monday, May 14, at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Harold Dodson delivering the eulogy, and organist Liz Evenman providing music.

Burial was Monday at Lincoln Memorial Park, with pallbearers George Krauss, David and John Kyker, Don Leonard, and Eugene Betka.
