Gwendolyn M. Hart, 78, died Oct. 30, 2001, in Ogden, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at the First Christian Church, 705 23rd St., Ogden, with Pastor Steve Shinn officiating. Interment will be at Ogden City Cemetery.

She was born April 16, 1923, in Blair to Oscar and Addie (Nelson) Hopkins. She was reared and educated in Blair.

On June 23, 1942, she married Alfred W. Hart in Fremont.

Mrs. Hart worked for the IRS for more than 20 years. She was a Disciple of Christ and a member of the First Christian Church. She was very active in women’s group.

She was an avid reader, loved to sew, loved music, sang in her college choir, played the trumpet, and sang for many years in her church choir. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther No. 4, where she received for 50 year pin, and a Guardian of Job’s Daughter’s Bethel No. 14.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred W., of Ogden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger W. and Sandy Hart of Ogden; Ronald M. and Gloria Jean Hart, of Hooper Utah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna M. and Jim Lewis of Fort Collins, Colo.; Marcia A. and Darrell Ross Burley, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and eight grand-children.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Frain, and one grandson, Thomas E. (Tommy) Corbett.
