Gerald I. Hasebroock, 72, of Norfolk, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home in Norfolk.

Funeral services were held Oct. 14, 2000, at Home for Funerals in Norfolk. The Rev. Jack Williams officiated. Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.

Gerald I. Hasebroock was born Feb. 23, 1928, to Henry and Lela (Pulley) Hasebroock on the family farm east of Stanton. He grew up and attended school near Stanton.

On June 13, 1954, he married Reba Beckner at a rural Lutheran church near Winside.

He attended Coleman Institute for heating and air conditioning in Wichita, Kan. He obtained a license in plumbing, heating and air conditioning. He was employed by Midwest Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.

Mr. Hasebroock was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Reba; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Jr. and Michele Hasebroock on Stanton, and David and Teresa and Hasebroock of Norfolk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia “Ginny” and Bill Kermoade of Blair and Katharine “Kathy” and Mike Elkins of Norfolk; a brother, Arlin Hasebroock of Pilger, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and one sister.
