Mary A. Hass, 99, of Fremont, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Services were Monday, March 1, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Mike Lewis officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington.

Pallbearers were Todd and Layne Hass, Jerry Woodcock, Mike Werner, Kenneth Peacock, and Rick Cartwright.

Mary A. Hass was born Dec. 21, 1899, in Bennington, to Soren and Emma (Anderson) Goldberg in Bennington.

She was raised in the Orum area of Washington County.

On April 4, 1923, she married Julius Hass in Omaha. She lived in Blair a short while and then moved to Arlington. Her husband died Nov. 21, 1955.

In the mid-1980’s she moved to Fremont.

She was a member of the Fremont Jehovah’s Witnesses, and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 of Arlington.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy and Carol Hass of Fremont; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Darlene Williams; two sons, Howard and Julius Hass, Jr.; sister, Anna Hokamp; grandson, Brad Hass; and two brothers, Clarence Goldberg and Albert Goldberg.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
