Published in the Blair Tribune on 13 December 1911

William Wallace Lytle was born in Wisconsin, September, 1845, came with his parents to Ft. Calhoun in 1869 and went to school here, was married to Miss Nettie Miller, daughter of Pioneer W. F. Miller, September 3, 1897, died near Craig on December 2 and was buried in the Ft. Calhoun (Nebraska) cemetery December 5, 1911, leaving a wife and four beautiful children besides relatives in Oregon and other places. He was a hard-working, industrious man, but some way never succeeded in accumulating much property.

Elder W. H. Woods, an old friend of the family, officiated at the Presbyterian church. The choir were Mrs. John Landis, Miss Lena Schwager and Miss Edna Vaughan, with Mrs. Wallie McMillan at the organ.

Among others present were Veteran W. H. Harrison of Pender, Mrs. Jud Sheppard and Bethuel Miller of Irvington, Mr. Kirkpatrick of Almo, Mr. Price and Miss Agnes Titzgerald of Tekamah. Mr. and Mr. Burt Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cooper of Herman had trouble with their auto and got here at the close.

The pallbearers were William Hardy and son, William, Charles Stoltenburg, A.A. Wagers, James Vaughan and Charles Miller, some of them his old-time schoolmates.

Mrs. Lytle and children will make their home for the present with her brother, Bethuel Miller, near Irvington.

The family desire us to return thanks to their many friends for kindly help and sympathy shown.

W.H.Woods
