LONG TIME TEACHER HERE DIED TUESDAY

Miss Lydia Lippincott, a life-long resident of Blair and a teacher in the Blair City Schools for almost fifty years, died at the Crowell Memorial Home Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Lippincott was born April 17, 1878 to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Lippincott in Blair and lived here practically all of her life. She was 86 years of age.

As a young woman she developed a liking for teaching and attended the Fremont Normal School. She secured a place on the teaching staff of the Blair City Schools. Prior to that she had done some teaching in the rural schools of the County. She continued to teach the 3rd and 4th grades at North School until forced to retire about ten years ago because of a broken leg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Paul and Ray Lippincott, both Blair men who will be remembered by many. Several sisters preceded her many years ago.

Marjorie Lippincott Scott, of Omaha, survives as a niece. There are several cousins, but no members of her immediate family. She moved to the Crowell Memorial Home about ten years ago and has made her home there since that time.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon at the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of which she has been a long-time member. Father Ray Schaumberg will conduct the service with the Bendorf Funeral Home in charge of the burial at the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be R. J. Lippincott, Donald Lippincott, E. Clark Lippincott, Al Sick, Bernie Lundt and Mark McConnaha.
