Vivian V. Kraemer, 91

Vivian V. Kraemer, 91, of Virginia died Feb. 24, 2011.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Herman Community Church. Her ashes will be interred at the Herman Cemetery.

Vivian Viola Vinderslev was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Herman to Chris and Ida Vinderslev. She lived on the family farm with 12 brothers and sisters.

She graduated from Blair High School and later married A.C. Kraemer on June 1, 1940.

Mrs. Kraemer spent about 10 years as a farmer's wife until a farming accident in 1951 when they had to change occupations.

The couple leased a small motel in Missouri and ultimately built and operated two motels in Tekamah and Oakland. She lived in Oakland for 30 years before moving to Virginia to be close to family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dean G. and Carolyn Kraemer of Smithfield, Va; daughter-in-law, Kristine Kraemer of Longmont, Colo.; two grandchildren; sister, Darlene Dodge of Omaha; brother, Chris Vinderslev, Jr. of Friend; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Keith and Larry Kraemer.

Pelan Funeral Home is serving the family in Nebraska and Parr Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family in Virginia.
