SERVICES HELD FOR CLARK LIPPINCOTT

Private graveside services were held Monday, December 28, in the Blair Cemetery for Ephraim Clark Lippincott, 76, who died December 25, 1981, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Memorial services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Rev. Carl Schattauer conducting the services.

Ephraim Clark Lippincott was born on April 9, 1905 in Blair, Nebraska, the eldest son of Ephraim Coles and Emma Catherine Schmidt Lippincott. He grew up on the bench at the Lippincott farm that had been homesteaded by his grandfather, Joshua in 1857.

He attended Pleasant View School and graduated from Blair High School in 1923.

He married Ethel Anderson in 1927 and soon moved onto her father’s farm near the old Lippincott place, where they began a lifetime of farming. He also worked in the Agricultural Adjustment Office and served on the Farm Rationing Board during the war. At the time of his death, he was an active member of the Riverview Grange.

His wife, Ethel, preceded him in death in 1974, on Mother’s Day, as a result of a stroke after surgery.

In 1976, he married Hilda Kierscht Rogers. She cared for him through his long illness.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda; two daughters, Mrs. John (Virginia) Beck; Mrs. Warren (Pat) Hunsche; and two sons, Tom Lippincott and Bill Lippincott, all of Blair; two sisters, Ruth Lippincott and Mrs. Lyle Guyer; two brothers, Richard Lippincott and Donald Lippincott, all of Blair; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild also survive him.

Pallbearers for the services were Eric Beck, John t. Beck, Bart Lippincott, Mark Lippincott and Rory Sturn.

Clare Cowing was organist. Chuck Jorgensen provided the vocal music.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
