TWO DIED IN WRECK ON HIGHWAY 133

SPEEDING CAR GOES OUT OF CONTROL AND FLIPPED INTO AIR

Two young men were killed and three others were injured early Wednesday morning when their car went out of control while enroute to Omaha on Highway 133. The five had spent some time in Blair prior to the accident, which took place a short distance south of the Clark Huber farm home on the Washington-Douglas county line.

Washington County Sheriff Burley Sutherland, returning to Blair from Omaha, came upon the wreck almost immediately after it had happened and gave assistance.

Dead are Max L. Brummer, 22, driver of the 1955 convertible, and Lavern L. Hardisty, also 22. Other passengers in the car were Janice Fencl, 17, of Omaha, jerry L. Robinson, 23, and Sharon Peterson.

Investigation bore out that the car had topped a hill at about 12:45 A.M. Wednesday at what appeared to be a high speed. It traveled 480 feet along the shoulder of the road, then came upon a side road which threw it up into the air. The three injured passengers were pinned under the hood of the car.
