Funeral services for Vincent C. Lyons, 80, of Blair, who died Tuesday, July 29, 1986, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital, were held Friday, August 1, 2 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Rev. Perry Baublitz officiated and burial was in the Blair Cemetery

Lyons was born August 26, 1905, in Armour, South Dakota, the son of Roy and Flora Lyons. He married Hulda Sublet in Blair in 1937.

He farmed and worked for the ASCS office in the Arlington area until 1952 when he and his family moved to Kennard. They moved to Blair in 1954 and worked for the Big Moe Grain Elevator Company as well as a commercial grain inspector. He also operated his own tree spraying business.

In 1955 he worked for the Blair Cattle Company and later was an equipment operator for Washington County. Shortly before his retirement he operated the city landfill for the City of Blair.

Survivors include his wife of Blair; sons Robert of Omaha, and Timothy of Barboo, Wisconsin; one daughter, Lisa Gibson of Dexter, Iowa; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and one sister.
