Howard C. Linnenkohl, 96, of Blair died July 4, 1998,m at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled for noon to 8 p.m. on Monday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
Howard Cecil Linnenkohl was born Dec. 18, 1901 at Washington, Ga., to William and Caroline (Porterfield) Linnenkohl. At the age of 10 he moved to Arkansas City, Kan., with his family. He graduated from Arkansas City High School.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1919 to 1921.
In 1939, he moved to Omaha and in February of 1944, he married Eunice Kuhr. They lived in Omaha until moving to Blair in 1965.
He had been employed as a stationary engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice; one son, Joe Linnenkohl of Omaha; one daughter, Eva Baber of Blair; 12 grandchildren; and one brother, William Linnenkohl of Newhall, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Howard; and one brother, Everett.
