Mrs. Humphrey passes away in Blair

Mary Luceinda “Babe” Humphrey of Blair passed away at Memorial Community Hospital Tuesday, January 22. She was 75 years of age.

Mary was born November 25, 1909 to James Eervin and Sarah May (Foster) Haith in Barada, Nebraska.

She married Earl Leroy Humphrey September 8, 1926 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. They moved to Brownville, Nebraska in 1927. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brownville where they made their home until 1949, when they moved to several different towns up and down the Missouri River wherever Earl worked. They settled in Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska in 1957 where they lived until Earl’s retirement in 1973 when they moved to Blair, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clarence Haith; two sisters, Lizzy Thomas, and Alice Haith; and one infant daughter, Luetta Mae.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; two sons, James, of Lasill, Colorado and David of Blair; six grandchildren, Roy, Cindy, Jim, Ruth, Todd and Troy, and six great-grandchildren.
