Many Blair Friends Attend Funeral Services in Omaha

The death of Mrs. Cecil W. Lynn, which occured Monday evening at the Wise Memorial hospital in Omaha, came as a sudden shock to the people of Blair, a great many of Mrs. Lynn's friends and acquaintances being unaware that she had been ill. Mrs. Lynn was taken to the hospital last week and underwent an operation on Saturday. The operation disclosed a very serious condition and her death came after a critical illness of several days. Mrs. Lynn was thirty-two years of age at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held at the Burkett chapel in Omaha at four-thirty Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. A.F. Newell, pastor of the local Congregational church officiating. Burial was made in Forest Lawn cemetery. A large number of Blair friends attended the funeral services and a wealth of flowers testified to the fact that Mrs. Lynn had won the close regard of hundreds of friends during her short residence in Blair.

Mrs. Lynn, the wife of Cecil W. Lynn, cashier of the Blair State Bank, came to Blair with her husband several years ago, following the reorganization of the local institution. Quiet and modest, yet friendly and cordial, Mrs. Lynn made a host of friends in Blair, all of whom unite in mourning her death.

Surviving are her husband and a three year old girl and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Warner, of Omaha.

The sad news reached here yesterday morning of the death of Mrs. C.W. Lynn at the Wise Memorial hospital in Omaha, following an operation last Friday morning for gallstones. It was found that the appendix had abscessed and broken, from which peritonitis set in Sunday morning and death resulted at about 9 o'clock Monday evening. The funeral is to be held at the Burkett Funeral home in Omaha at 4:30 this afternoon, Rev. A.F. Newell officiating. Miss Maud Warner was born in the northern part of the state January 3rd, 1894, so was past 32 years of age. She was married to C.W. Lynn about eleven years ago and they made their home for some time at Ogalalla, Neb. While Mr. Lynn was serving in France during the World war she made her home in Omaha with her parents and was employed in the Omaha National bank. The family came to Blair about two years ago, shortly after Mr. Lynn went into the State bank. Besides her husband she leaves an only daughter, Maxine, aged 2 1/2 years, her parents, two sisters and two brothers. She was very much loved by all who knew her and her early death is a great shock to her friends, and those nearer and dearer to her are almost crushed. Mr. Lynn has the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
