Services for Blair youth Tinna Louise Hawthorne, 18, who died Monday, June 17 in Methodist Hospital at Omaha, are Thursday, June 20, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. The Rev. Daniel Galas will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. Rick Nelson will be the vocalist.

Miss Hawthorne was born Sept. 14, 1966, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of Larry and Sandra Hawthorne.

She graduated from Blair High School in 1984 and attended Dana College majoring in accounting and computer science. She was one of the founders and secretary of the Non-Traditional Student organizations at Dana.

Miss Hawthorne was also an assistant instructor at the Blair Karate Club and she was a first degree black belt in Tae Kwando. She taught self defense for women.

She was a member of the Sundance Saloon Girls softball team and she worked for Godfather’s Pizza.

Miss Hawthorne is survived by her mother, Sandra of Blair’ her father, Larry of Sutton; her grandparents, Doyle and Frances Cox of Arvada, Colo., and Doris Deines of Idaho Springs, Colo.; great-grandparents, Earl and Frances Metzler of Blair and Elza and Esther King of Herman; one sister, Cheri and one brother Ricky, both of Blair.
