Mrs. Ray Haynes died last Thursday of pneumonia following influenza, and the funeral was held at the family residence, just north of the Blair Hospital, at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating. She and her daughter, Viva, aged 11 years, were taken sick at the same time a week ago Friday and she was sick just a week. The little girl had a light case and is now well again.

Minerva Gilliland was born near this city March 30th, 1882, and was therefore 36 years of age last March. She was married to Ray Haynes May 29th, 1906 and to them were born three children, Viva, aged 11, Charles, aged 9 and Lorrie, aged 7 years. Besides these and the husband she is survived by her father F. M. Gilliland, of this city, five sisters, Mrs. Jas. Montgomery, Mrs. Dave Lane and Mrs. Ben Klinger, of this city, Mrs. Arch McManigal of Decatur, and Mrs. Abner Puffer, of Tekamah; and one brother John G. of Decatur. She was a good and dutiful wife and mother, sister and daughter and will be sincerely mourned by many friends, who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved husband and the three motherless children.

Mrs. Ray Haynes Is Called To Rest

Mrs. Ray Haynes passed from this life on Friday, December 5, 1918, at the age of about 36 years.

Mary Minerva Gilliland was born March 30, 1882, and was married to Ray Haynes, May 29, 1906. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gilliland and one of a family of six daughters and one son. Her mother preceded her death several years ago.

Mrs. Haynes has been ill with the influenza and had a weak heart condition and could not withstand the strain, which the disease laid, upon her strength.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, three children, Biba age 11, Charles age 9 and Lottie age 7; five sisters, Mrs. A. C. Puffer of Tekamah, Mrs. A. J. McManigal, Mrs. Ben Klinger, Mrs. Dave Lane, and Mrs. James Mo (can't read), all of Blair and one brother, John Gilliland of Tekamah.

The funeral was held at the home on Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. H. Underwood and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
