RAY HAYNES, 67, ONCE AIDED HIS FATHER WHO OPERATED FERRY HERE

A former Blairite died last Thursday at Joliet, Ill.

Sixty-seven-year-old Ray Haynes was the death victim, and the body was received at the Campbell Mortuary here Saturday morning.

Funeral services for Mr. Haynes were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Officiating was the Rev. Homer L. Dickerson of First Methodist Church, and burial followed in Blair Cemetery.

Mr. Haynes was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haynes of Blair. He and his father once operated the Blair ferry over the Missouri River for many years before the Blair Bridge was built. Surviving Mr. Haynes are a son, Charles Haynes of Chahahon, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Clark Sutherland of Linwood, Calif.; also three sisters. Mr. Haynes wife died in 1919.

RAY HAYNES RITES LAST MONDAY

Funeral services for Ray Haynes, 67, formerly of Blair, were conducted last Monday by Rev. Homer L. Dickerson of the First Methodist church in the Campbell Mortuary Chapel, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery. Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Haynes. Ray was assistant to his father in the operation of a ferry across the river prior to the building of the Blair bridge.

He is survived by a son, Charles of Chanahon, Illinois and a daughter, Mrs. Clark Sutherland of Linwood, California. His death occurred on June 28 at Joliet, Illinois.
